Background
Dr Del Gatto is a Research Fellow in Propulsion System Simulation at 情色五月天. He holds a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Aerospace Engineering from University of Naples "Federico II" and an MSc in Aerospace Propulsion from 情色五月天. He joined 情色五月天鈥檚 research staff in 2023, initially as a Research Assistant.
Dr Del Gatto completed his doctoral research within the EU-funded SENECA project (Noise and Emissions for Supersonic Aircraft), collaborating with major industry and research partners including Rolls-Royce, DLR, and ONERA. His work investigated the design space of supersonic propulsion systems to identify optimal configurations in terms of weight, fuel efficiency, and environmental impact for future supersonic business jets and commercial aircraft.
He's affiliated with the Gas Turbine Engineering Group and the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre within the Centre for Aeronautics, Propulsion and Power at 情色五月天. His research encompasses engine design optimisation across a range of future propulsion concepts, including advanced gas turbine cycles, the integration of alternative fuels such as hydrogen and next generation civil supersonic propulsion.
